I am trying to run AutoCAD LT 2025 but it's unable to run due to a "Microsoft .NET component is missing". The trouble is it doesn't say which component is missing.

Autodesk have suggested to re-install "ASP.NET Core Runtime 6.0.31" & "ASP.NET Core Runtime 8.0.6". I have re-installed these but I still receive the same error message when trying to open LT 2025. Can anybody help me with this please?

I have even re-installed AutoCAD LT 2025 but it hasn't resolved the issue.

Hi Dave, I'm another CAD user that've battling this issue for the past week. I've tried all sorts of things recommended on the internet and by ChatGPT. Nothing worked...

I ended up installing AutoCAD 2023 instead of 2025 and so far I'm able to use it with no issues!

    Hi,

As a person who are also using AutoCAD LT 2025 as well, which creates a lot of headache. I managed to use this software after few fixes being done on the laptop.

This software requires total of four runtimes to be installed in your computer due to libraries being used in its development and usage of DirectX12 virtual API for smoother graphic.

    https://dotnet.microsoft.com/en-us/download/dotnet/8.0

From this website above, you will need three runtimes to be downloaded from this site and installed on your computer. AutoCAD LT 2025 only recognize DotNet runtimes version 8. Hence, trying to installer version 9 will not resolve this issue.

    1. ASP.NET Core Runtime 8.0.11 (Windows x64 installer)
    2. .NET Desktop Runtime 8.0.11 (Windows x64 installer)
    3. .NET Runtime 8.0.11 (Windows x64 installer)

After installing all three runtimes, you will need to remove obsolete versions through control panel. Restart your computer after you finish this stage.

During this stage, you can launch your AutoCAD LT 2025 however it may have some lag issues due to DirectX12 libraries not being updated.

    https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/Download/confirmation.aspx?id=35

From the website above, you may download the dxwebsetup runtime and install it on your computer. After installing, you will have a bit better experience using the software. But, that's not all. It's a software full of headache, remember?

You will need to install new graphics driver from NVIDIA, AMD or INTEL website for the graphics card model that you are using.

One important thing to note, AutoCAD LT 2025 is not compatible with newest Intel ARC GPU and any Intel processor that has Intel ARC integrated graphics. If you are using Intel ARC, then you will need to change graphics settings by turning off the Hardware Acceleration in AutoCAD LT 2025.

That's all for the fix on this issue.

    Cheers

    Hi Kirito

This did not fix the issue.

I tried to download .NET Framework 4.8 was unable to do so because it is already installed on my computer.

    Thanks

    Dave

Hello David Shaw7 and welcome to the Microsoft Community!

Based on your feedback, you are experiencing an issue with AutoCAD LT 2025 running and reporting a missing Microsoft .NET component that prevents it from running!

We are sorry to hear that you are experiencing this issue!

You can try the following to see if this resolves your issue

Run the .NET Framework Repair Tool:

Download and run the Microsoft .NET Framework Repair Tool.

Link:Download Microsoft .NET Framework Repair Tool from Official Microsoft Download Center

In the meantime you can refer to the instructions below:Microsoft .NET Framework Repair Tool is available - Microsoft Support

To run the System File Checker:

    1. Search for CMD, locate the command prompt, and select Run as Administrator.
    2. Enter the following commands one by one, making sure to execute the next command only after the previous one completes: DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /ScanHealth DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /CheckHealth DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth SFC /Scannow
    3. When the scan is complete, you can check the scan information to see if any problems were detected and fixed.

    Check system permissions:

Ensure that you have sufficient privileges to run AutoCAD LT 2025. right-click on the AutoCAD LT 2025 icon and select “Run as Administrator”.

If you are unable to run AutoCAD even after installing the correct version of the .NET Framework, then it is possible that AutoCAD's compatibility settings need to be adjusted.

Right-click on the AutoCAD shortcut or executable, select Properties, and then go to the Compatibility tab.

Ensure that you have selected settings that match your operating system.

Other than that, you can look at clicking on the windows key > search and open Control Panel > Programs > under Programs and Features click on “Turn windows features on and off”.

Then see if .net is enabled.

I hope the above information is helpful to you, feel free to give me feedback if you have any questions and I will try my best to help you.

I hope you are doing well and have a great day.
