How to disable specific video output in Windows 11

Hi,

I have an external display connected to my laptop via 2 interfaces. One is USB-C via docking station and then Display Port, and the other one is direct connection laptop-monitor via HDMI. Reason for that is that some applications keep disconnecting my external display when connected via docking station (this is another problem which I am trying to solve).

Anyway - Windows is pushing the video through 2 interfaces at the same time. They both go to the same display, which is obviously unnecessary and from time to time still causes disconnestion as well. Is there a way to make Windows to be using only one interface, HDMI in this case, and prevent from using USB-C (but only for display purpose, it still needs to use it, as keyboard and mouse receiver is connected to docking station).

Thanks for help in advance!

Regards

Tomasz

    Hi ,

I am Ivan, I will help you with this.

Well, you can use the docking state and disable the screen through the settings.

Start menu > Settings > System > Video > Put identification to recognize the screen and select which one is USB-C and click the disconnect video button.

    Hope this helps.

    Hi Ivan,

thanks for your reply. I believe your advice could help, if only I could see the "disconnect video" button :-) Can you share some screen?

    Thanks!

    Regards

    Tomek
