HP does not support the LaserJet 1020 on Windows 11. In fact, HP stopped supporting the LaserJet 1020 more than 8 years ago, in February of 2016.

'Does not support' means that HP has not tested the LaserJet 1020 on Windows 11, so HP doesn't know whether it will work properly, if it works at all. It also means that HP has not made any changes to the LaserJet 1020 (for more than 8 years) to keep it compatible with newer versions of Windows.

There is nothing that Microsoft can do about this. Microsoft doesn't have the proprietary knowledge or the legal right to change HP's hardware and software.

As a result, there are no official answers for your situation, only tips and tricks that you might hear from other people, which might or might not work. Really, it's time for a new printer.

You can try downloading the HP Print and Scan Doctor for Windows from HP's website. Perhaps that will help, but there are no guarantees.

    Hi Claude60fr ,

I'm Christine, I'll be happy to assist you. I'm afraid that LaserJet 1020 is not compatible with Windows 11.

It would be best to reach HP Support regarding this so they could provide options or driver that could run on Windows 11.

Other option is to go back to Windows 10 in able to use your printer.

You may reach HP Support from the link below:

    Thank you,

    Christine L
