Mouse issure on FullScreen game [multiple Monitor]

Hello,

I am experiencing an issue with the mouse cursor in full-screen games on my system. When playing a game in full-screen mode, the cursor initially stays within the screen borders. However, i keep hitting borders to move my camera, after a short period of time, the cursor escapes the game’s full-screen boundaries and moves to the another screen.

When I switch the game to windowed mode, the cursor returns to respecting the window borders for a while, but the issue repeats after some time.

I have tried restarting the game and the system, but the problem persists.

System Information:

  • Operating System: Windows 11
  • Game(s) affected: Age of Empires, League of Legends, and maybe more i just upgraded to Win11, i couldn't try other games.
  • Graphics Card: Nvidia GeForce GTX 1070
  • Driver Version: 566.14

I am seeking assistance in resolving this issue directly within Windows 11 (am trying to not regret the 10th), without using any third-party solutions. Any help or guidance would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you for your help.

Best regards,

    Hello! Thanks for your feedback!

Have you tried modifying the EdgeUI? They can cause this problem too.

    Step 01 (Windows Pro)

    1. Press WINDOWS + R > Type "gpedit.msc" (without quotes) > Press ENTER.
    2. Expand Computer Configuration > Administrative Templates > Windows Components > Edge UI.
    3. Right-click on "Allow edge swipes" > Select Edit > In the upper left corner, click "Disabled" > Click OK.
    4. Restart the Computer.

    Step 02 (Windows Home)

    1. Press WINDOWS + R > Type "regedit" (without quotes) > Press ENTER.
    2. Expand the keys (folders) HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE > SOFTWARE > Policies > Microsoft > Windows.
    3. Right-click on the Windows Key > Select New > Key > Rename it to "EdgeUI" (without quotes).
    • If the Key already exists, proceed to the next step.
    1. Go to the EdgeUI key > Right-click on the background > Choose New > DWORD (32-bit) > rename it to "AllowEdgeSwipe" > Set the value to 0.
    2. Restart your computer.

The issue is Xbox Game Bar, right after running my game, or bring the mode (fullscreen) back after losing it, ms-gaming overlay hook the event and ruin my game.

i unstalled it my games on fullscreen works with perfection no mouse cursor issue, the only problem with this solution is that a ms-gaming overlay event hooker message pop-up everytime, and by consequence it will always search for an application to open the overlay because Xbox Game Bar is been unstalled.

Do you have any alternative solution, to disable ms-gaming overlay onGameLaunched listener?

Hello Manoel, thank you for your help,

I’ve tried the steps you suggested, including repairing system files and reinstalling the video driver, but the issue persists.

The cursor still escapes fullscreen after a few seconds of play, even after performing these actions. It seems that the problem isn't related to corrupted files or the video driver, i dont think that it's the game i've tried multiple games today unfortunatly i couldn't play.

i would like also to tell you that i even tried a third party solution to jail the cursor within the monitor, there is something that prevent the game, and DualMonitorTools to keep the mouse focus and sticky to the full screen mode, but this was my last hope, before that i tried Mouse settings, Display settings, Taskbar....

    Hello! I'm Manoel Barros!

Mouse cursor problems are usually caused by Windows bugs, such as corrupted files or registry. Try repairing corrupted files.

    System Repair

    1. Type "'Command Prompt" in the Search Bar > Right-click on the app > Select '''Run as administrator''.
    2. Now let's type the following commands.

ATTENTION: Type the entire command on the first line > Press ENTER > Wait for the command to complete > Execute the next command in the list.

    DISM /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth

    sfc /scannow

    chkdsk c: /f /x /r

    • When the message "...Check next time the system is restarted? (Y/N)" appears, press the Y (Yes) key.
    1. When finished, turn off your computer properly and turn it on again.

    Video Driver

The video driver may cause this problem. Try reinstalling it.

    1. Download the driver from the official website of your graphics card manufacturer.

    https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/drivers/details/23...

NOTE: This is not a Microsoft website, but it seems to provide accurate and secure information. Be aware of ads that may advertise products often classified as PUP (Potentially Unwanted Products). Search for any product advertised on the site before deciding to download and install it.

    1. When you download the Video Driver, disconnect your PC from the Internet > Search "Device Manager" in the search bar > Click on icon > Expand the "Video adapters" tab.
    2. Right-click on the first video device > Select "Uninstall device" > Check "Try to remove this device’s driver" > Confirm.

NOTE: Your screen will search, it is normal, do not worry!

    1. Restart the computer.
    2. Install the downloaded driver > Choose 'Express Installation' option and proceed > When installing the driver fully, restart the computer.
    3. Connect to the internet and check if the problem has been solved.

I will be here to answer any questions or information! Review the topic if this information or troubleshootings helped you! In this way, you help other users too.
