Dell G16 7630 Poor Performance
I’ve been having poor performance on my Dell G16 7630 when doing GPU heavy tasks or playing games. I’ve tried wiping the drive entirely and reinstalling windows, disabling laptop mode / the integrated sensor, changing bios settings, yet nothing has worked. Hardware tests show no issues and the fans have been cleaned of dust. The GPU when performing as normal will receive on average 80-100W of power, with the fans running as normal, yet when the issues persists it will not go over 30W and the fans won’t run. It’s an intermittent issue as sometimes the GPU performs as it should, however it doesn’t consistently perform and will eventually go back to poor performance. I’ve tried everything and I’m at a loss at what to do at this point.

2024-11-19T13:15:54+00:00 My performance is fine, but when first using my G16 7630 the idle temp was 50-60c. If I tried to play any game at all, I would get 100c on multiple cores. Luckily for me I was checking temps when first using and launching games from my brand new laptop. The only fix anyone has figured out is to disable the Turbo Boost from either the BIOS or using software like Throttlestop. Why is the Turbo so broken that it will fry these laptop cpus (In some cases within 6 months)? There is also a frustration from users because it seems support will talk about upgrading a graphics card or trying new thermal paste, which has nothing to do with the Turbo Tech being unstable. The obvious truth of this is that temps and the laptop work fine with it disabled, and when I say fine I mean we are forced to use the laptop without Turbo which means we aren't really getting a feature that is advertised. My main hope is that there was no damage done while even experimenting with temps as it hit 100c so quickly.

Hi mate! I have the same issue with this G16 laptop. When I move/shake the laptop a little, it's limiting GPU to 25-30W and game is starting lagging. I tried disabling Intel Integrated Sensor Solution but it didn't worked. How did you disable the gyroscope (integrated laptop mode sensor) in laptop? And if you fixed the problem, how did you manage to do it?
