How to unlock my computer

How do I unlock my computer?

I think I locked it from a notification on my phone from authentication app.

On the login screen it only gives me the option to input my pin log in and says ask an administrator to sign in and unlock.

It is a home PC I am the only user.

On the system restore screen it asks for my password and then tells me the password is wrong despite it being correct and I even changed it via Microsoft account to ensure it is correct.

There is no unlock option on my Microsoft account where I am logged in.

How do I fix this, it seems crazy this is not a single button press.

Dave, this is the farthest I've been able to get help with this issue since Sept so THANK YOU.

I did the reset, entered my PIN -- but the login screen still says "An administrator has restricted sign in. To sign in, make sure your device is connected to the Internet, and have your Administrator sign in first."

This is my personal laptop, so there isn't an Admin person to login. Now what can I do?

In that case, you may need to reset or re-install Windows, try this method to reset Windows or are you also blocked by a password.

Click the power button on the Login screen.

Press the Shift Key and click Restart

Your PC will boot into the Windows Recovery Environment

Go to Troubleshoot - Advanced Options - Reset this PC

    Then start the Reset

Hi thanks, unfortunately the command prompt screen also requires the same password and so I cannot access that potential solution.

Hi, I am Dave, I will help you with this.

If you locked your device remotely, you may need to reset that device, but first, try using the solution provided by Emily on this link, it is for a different problem, but may work in this case:
