Windows 11 won't sleep or hibernate after upgrading

Hibernating and sleeping was fine when my desktop PC was with Windows 10. I recently upgraded to Windows 11 and suddenly they stopped from working. It now turns back on right after it enters hibernate or sleep mode. I have already tried:

  1. Disable wake timers.
  2. Reset BIOS settings to default.
  3. powercfg -h off and powercfg -h on

but non of the above works.

After upgrading to a new version of Windows, it can become outdated or incompatible.

Reinstall Graphic and Network Drivers :

    a. Press win + X to open Device Manager and Open it

    b. Expand Display and Network adapters and select your Graphic and Wifi or Ethernet drivers then right click on them and click on Uninstall device .

    c. Restart Laptop to re-install drivers automatically

Perform a clean boot by following the instruction in the given article

Thanks for your reply. But after I tried your suggestions,

    1. and 3. don't solve the issue.
    2. The Power Troubleshooter doesn't appear on the list so I used command prompt instead (msdt.exe /id PowerDiagnostic), but it didn't found any error and didn't solve the issue, either.

Hi, I’m Vinay. Thanks for reaching out.

I’m here to help you today.

    1. Enable Fast Startup in Control Panel - Hardware and Sound - Power Options -choose what the power buttons do - click on Change settings that are currently unavailable - check Turn on fast startup and apply changes.

If it is already enabled then try disabling it.

    1. Run Troubleshooter:

Go to Settings - System - Troubleshooter - Other troubleshooters - look for Power Troubleshooter and follow the on screen instructions to finish the process.

    1. Open command prompt as an administrator and run below command

    powercfg -restoredefaultschemes

I hope this resolves your issue! If you have any queries, please let me know.

    Regards,

    Vinay
