This problem started 15 days ago.

I have a 5g phone, to be exact Vivo T1 5g. It had good speeds and still have. But when I connect my laptop to the phone via hotspot or USB tethering, the speed hardly reaches 100kbps when downloading something. When I connect to another wifi, the network become normal.

In short, the speed becomes slow when connecting to my phone. Both for wifi and usb. When I connect to another win10 pc and other devices, it runs as usual. I am hacing this problem in this pc only and that too with this specific phone, [ it is having Jio sim ].

Pc:- Lenovo ideapad s145-15iil

windows 11 Home single lang. ( Build 22631 )

What I have tried till now:-

  • Resetting all drivers
  • Resetting network adapter
  • Running windows in safe mode
  • Did a inplace upgrade and a reset.

No solution till now. Plz help.

Hey, glad you got your issue fixed but I'm facing the same thing right now. Can you please share how did you bypass those restrictions? We can connect through reddit if you'd prefer that.

Contact your Mobile Network Oerator, they may have set up restrictions regarding some specific downloads.

Specify what firewall/antivirus you are using.

By another wifi, I mean another hotspot or any other router/ home wifi. The speeds are good when connected to them.

And yes, I am having this problem only when downloading items. There is no problem while browsing the web/ streaming something. Only when downloading.

Edit :- the condition is even worse now, capped to 20-50 kbps download speed. Once again, normal browsing is fine, streaming is also fine, but the problem is with downloading any file from any website.

What do you mean when you say: "When I connect to another wifi, the network becomes normal"? Is the other WiFi another phone on which the hotspot is configured or is it your home WiFi network?

Does your problem occur only when you download programs from the internet or also during normal web browsing?
