How to dock Sticky Notes to a specific desktop when multiple desktops enabled

I have multiple desktops set up on my laptop (running Windows 11) and for one of them I have Sticky Notes docked to the desktop (Desktop 3) because I need to be able to see all my sticky notes easily all the time. However, whenever I switch to a different desktop Sticky Notes doesn't appear (which I'm happy with) but the space that the app takes up on the desktop/screen in Desktop 3 when docked is still reserved in other desktops.

In other words: I can't put anything in that space Sticky Notes has reserved when docked, and now the "full screen" option for windows is limited to only a portion of the actual screen.

I've tried using the quick "maximize" button on app windows in other desktops (e.g. Desktop 1) but it maximizes only to the edge of where the Sticky Notes is docked in Desktop 3, leaving about a quarter of my screen showing only part of the desktop wallpaper as Sticky Notes doesn't appear in that desktop (Desktop 1). I've also tried manually sizing the window to encroach on the Sticky Notes reserved space---both directly (i.e. going straight to the edge) and indirectly (i.e. incrementally increasing the size of the window)---but it always snaps back to the limit. Similarly, if I try to move a window to cover this Sticky Notes reserved space, Windows automatically snaps the window to a segment (like one of the preset window on screen orientations) where the edge of the Sticky Note reserved space is.

I don't like nor want this. I need to be able to use my entire screen in these other desktops where I don't have Sticky Notes open and docked to.

    Hello AveryBC,

    Welcome to the Microsoft Community.

Thank you for sharing your experience with our community! We have tested your issue on our test devices and it turns out that the situation you describe is a design issue. There seems to be no solution at the moment. But maybe there is a workaround: That is, not to use the "dock to desktop" option, but to manually resize the Sticky Notes window to the maximum size (by using your mouse pointer to scale the border). In fact, you can resize the window to the same maximum size as when it is "docked", while this way the window will not affect the other desktops.

Anyway, you are welcome to share your feedback about this application using the feedback button in Sticky Notes. Your feedback will help Microsoft improve their products better! Thank you for your understanding and support.

    Best Regards,

    Hi,

I want to share same experience as you.

My work machine can dock the Sticky Note to right side of screen.

However, my personal one is unable to do so.

Just quite confused since I have purchased quite a price to grant authentic license Windows.

    Please advice!

    Hi William.

Is there a way to get the sticky notes app to dock and snap vertically to the right (or left edge) of the desktop rather than horizontally right across the top edge of the desktop?

(Sticky notes use to dock on the right of the desktop on my old Dell that i just swapped out with work).

    Thank you
