It is now a year on, and I was hoping that this issue would have been resolved with Microsoft updates but unfortunately not. I need to connect the FastFoto to an old slow Windows 10 laptop for all function to work. My fully up-to-date Windows 11 Desktop will still not fully work with the scanner. Please Microsoft when will I be able to use my scanner as I did back in April 2023.
My Epson FF-680W will NOT work on windows 11
I purchased an Epson FF-680W scanner a "few years ago". Recently I needed to upgrade my computer and it came with Windows 11 installed. My Epson scanner will not work or even be recognized. What can be done? The scanner cost about as much as my computer.

2024-02-05T18:10:12+00:00 My client is having the similar problem with two computers. I installed two new FF-680W scanners, so they have four of them now.
The two newest ones installed have the problem with scanner not available.
All scanners are USB attached, the client does not have wi-fi on site.
The two computers that do not have the problem are Win 10 Pro.
The two computer that have the problem are Win 10 Pro and Win 11 Pro.
All computer have the same version of Epson drivers # 2.0.1.0, came out in 2011.
What additional information do you need to work on this problem?

2024-11-25T22:14:21+00:00 Similar issue. I bought the FastFoto scanner in May 2024, and it worked fantastic on my Windows 11 MSI laptop. Scanned 800 documents or photos. Installed a Windows update, and now Scansmart will not load. FastFoto is working fine. I am being pushed to Windows Scan and Fax, which is horrible. I have spent 3 days on research, checking the web, and uninstalling everything, including the Windows updates, where I could. I have found that I am not alone in the issues caused by Windows 11 or Windows 11 updates. I have been unable to find any fix that has worked and have, like others, used a Windows 10 pc or a different Windows 11 one to bypass the laptop.

2024-09-06T17:27:13+00:00 I am having the same problem. I am using a new MS Surface laptop with Windows 11 and when I try to download the drivers, it says "your operating system does not support this software". (However, my old Surface laptop is running W11 and is able to run the software!) I have spent 2 hours on the phone with Epson for them to tell me that I need to contact Microsoft because it must be a "windows secrutiy setting". I am beyond frustrated....scanner is just over a year old!

2024-06-20T23:45:03+00:00 I am having the same issue. And it's very frustrating!
I bought the scanner just over a year ago (warranty just expired), and paid almost as much for the scanner as the new computer.
The new computer is Windows 11, and the scanner will not be recognized via wi-fi nor when it is directly plugged in to the computer. So the troubleshooting suggestions don't work, as it wont even install.
I am about ready to throw the scanner out the window. I spent a good amount of money on the scanner to scan my family photo albums after the passing of my parents, and now I can't scan.
Epson is a good product, and I have never had issues with it before, and it worked fine on Windows 10, which suggests a Microsoft issue. But lo and behold - good luck getting in touch with Microsoft for assistance.
I can find nothing online that has been helpful, and even my tech expert son can't resolve the issue.
Can anybody help???
