Your Intel 1219-V Ethernet Adapter has nothing to do with connecting via wi-fi.
Please explain your situation in more detail.
There are various "solutions" offered for the "not bound to transport" error. These include uninstall/reinstall driver and do a System Restore (only if things worked fairly recently; it's not advisable to do a System Restore to an old Restore Point).
Now, apparently there are two issues. Or, the one that I thought was intertwined...
- Broadband connection (which I thought was the Ethernet issue) reports no connection/cable unplugged.
Cable IS plugged in, and checks OK with a cable tester. Swapping cables does not help. (I tried two others, also tested good and different hub ports.) There is no "cable data activity" light action at the hub end of the cable. Tried the uninstall/reinstall driver gig prior to posting my original message. System (O/S) is virgin, with only two changes: I installed USB 3 drivers that were missing and the latest driver package from Intel for the 1219-V. I'm unable to determine if the Ethernet card is functional, short of replacing it. I am unaware of any diagnostic routine I could try. Suggestions?
Both the Wi-Fi and Broadband issues were present prior to the driver changes (as delivered virgin OS,) hence the restore point try would unlikely make no difference. Computer vendor charged me for a "burn-in" after assembly, but it seems it was only to test for the presence of smoke. I would prefer not to have to drag the box halfway across the state to address a potential software / setting issue. Hence, my posting(s) here.
- Wi-fi never worked. After discussion with a service tech and a pending (and undesirable) road trip to the dealer I purchased the system from, it was suggested I install a Wi-Fi Dongle to side-step that issue. Amazon promised it, yesterday, but I am familiar with their delivery promises... so far, Nada. I have not been able to establish or create a Wi-fi connection with the system, as configured. We shall see if the Dongle Dance helps.
Running out of hair to pull.
