Bluetooth Devices not available in my HP Pavallion 14-ec1003au and the PC isn't visible in Bluetooth scan menu of other devices.

I connected and used my TWS earbuds yesterday but today I couldn't connect to the earphones. I tried connecting my mobile phone and Bluetooth speakers too, before unpairing, and after unpairing, they couldn't connect to it.

I have tried reinstalling and updating drivers from the HP support website and checked for all the available windows and additional updates. All Bluetooth settings are as they are supposed to be, the device is visible for all, and the Bluetooth device discovery option is set to advanced.

Please help me troubleshoot and fix this problem. If you need any more info, feel free to reach out. Thanks in advance :)

Hello, R-22

I tried to restart all the mentioned services and one particular service, ie Bluetooth User Support Service_17bc99 is set to manual(trigger start) and doesn't let me change it to automatic. It is showing an error that "The parameter is incorrect". How do I resolve it?

I‘ve tried myself and I see the same message, but my Bluetooth is working properly. This is not something to worry about. Just reset network settings to see if it resolves the issue.

It's great to hear that your Bluetooth is working again! Sometimes, system updates can resolve underlying issues without us realizing it.

As for what might have gone wrong initially, here are a few possibilities, like driver or software glitch, system updates, service configuration, and interference or temporary hardware issue. To prevent similar issues in the future, here are a few precautions you can take:

    • Keep Your System Updated: Regularly check for and install Windows updates and driver updates from the manufacturer.
    • Restart Services: If you encounter issues, restarting related services can sometimes help.
    • Regular Maintenance: Perform regular system maintenance, such as disk cleanup and checking for corrupted system files.
    • Backup Important Data: Always keep backups of important data in case you need to perform a system restore or reset.

If you encounter any more issues or have further questions, feel free to reach out. I'm here to help!

Thank you Yuhao L for clarification,

I woke up today and found my Bluetooth working just fine, I did not reset the network settings as i did not get time yesterday, I had performed the earlier-mentioned tasks. One of them might have worked, I do not know what did. I remember checking by restarting a few times but that did not solve the issue. But magically it was fixed.

I see these updates happened yesterday, I guess they might have fixed the issue.

    • Security Intelligence Update for Microsoft Defender Antivirus - KB2267602 (Version 1.421.187.0) - Current Channel (Broad)
    • Windows Configuration Update (KB5035942)

If I could have had a possible explanation for what went wrong I might take precautions next time. It's always good to have answers.

Anyways, thank you for your support.

    Thankyou Yuhao L. for responding,

I previously tried the Windows trouble shooter but it did not help me in any way,

I ran a BIOS/UEFI system and hardware check yesterday, to diagnose the issue but it showed everything working fine.

I will try to reset the network settings later in the day and update you on the results.

    Restart Bluetooth Services:

Press Win + R, type services.msc, and press Enter.

Find all the services related to Bluetooth, including, Bluetooth Support Service, Bluetooth Audio Gateway Service, Bluetooth User Support Service, Device Association Service, Device Install Service and Device Management Enrollment Service. Right-click on them, and select Restart.

Ensure the startup type is set to Automatic.

    Hello, R-22

    Welcome to Microsoft Community.

It sounds frustrating to have your Bluetooth suddenly stop working, especially after it was just fine yesterday. Let's try a few more steps to troubleshoot this issue:

    Run Bluetooth Troubleshooter:

Go to Windows settings > System > Troubleshoot.

    Select Other troubleshooters.

Find and run the Bluetooth troubleshooter.

    Check for Interference:

Ensure there are no other devices nearby that might be causing interference.

Try moving your laptop and Bluetooth devices to a different location.

    Reset Network Settings:

Go to Windows settings > Advanced network settings, and click on Network reset.

    BIOS/UEFI Settings:

Sometimes, Bluetooth can be disabled in the BIOS/UEFI settings. Restart your computer and enter the BIOS/UEFI setup (usually by pressing F2, F10, Del, or Esc during startup). Check if Bluetooth is enabled.

If none of these steps works, it might be a hardware issue. In that case, contacting HP support for further assistance would be a good idea.

As a temporary solution, you can use an external USB Bluetooth adapter to see if it resolves the connectivity issues.
