Hello,

I'm reaching out for assistance with ongoing download speed issues in the Epic Games Launcher. I've followed various troubleshooting steps but haven't seen any improvement. Here’s what I’ve tried so far:

  1. Edited the Engine.ini file with the following adjustments:
     makefileCopy code[HTTP]
     HttpTimeout=10
     HttpConnectionTimeout=10
     HttpReceiveTimeout=10
     HttpSendTimeout=10
     [Portal.BuildPatch]
     ChunkDownloads=3
     ChunkRetries=20
     RetryTime=0.5

    I saved these changes, reopened the Epic Games Launcher, and attempted downloads, but the speed remains slow.
  2. Adjusted the throttle settings:
    • Enabled Throttle Downloads and set the download speed to 0 (unlimited).
    • Restarted the Epic Games Launcher, but this didn't resolve the issue.

Additionally, I’ve watched multiple tutorial videos and tried other community-suggested fixes without success.

Could you please advise on further steps or identify any additional settings that may be affecting the download speed? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you for your assistance.

    Hi, I’m Vinay. Thanks for reaching out.

    I’m here to help you today.

    Try changing DNS and check if it helps

    1. Open Control Panel - Network and Sharing Center - Change adapter settings.
    2. Right click on your active network adapter and then select Properties.
    3. Select Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4) and click Properties.
    4. Select Use the following DNS server addresses and input the DNS addresses below.

    Google DNS:

    Primary DNS: 8.8.8.8

    Secondary DNS: 8.8.4.4

    Cloudflare DNS:

    Primary DNS: 1.1.1.1

    Secondary DNS: 1.0.0.1

    1. Click OK to apply the changes.

    I hope this resolves your issue! If you have any queries, please let me know.

    Regards,

    Vinay
