    I found a solution.

    1. (If you have the opportunity) disconnect all storage media other than the main one, to which you want to install Windows 11.
    2. In the Windows installation window, when you get to the installation method option, select the “Previous version of the configuration” option, it may also come up as “Launch legacy experience”.

Then it should already let you install Windows 11, and you can reconnect the others storage media.

Unbelievable that Microsoft, desperately looking for people to upgrade from Windows 10, allows such errors.

Come on, this is the Windows Vista of today, which I only upgraded from for the support. I'm glad there are tools that bring back the Windows 10 start menu. A complete mistake to have removed the tiles.

PS: there is a possibility that one of the storage media that you disconnected, does not appear in the file explorer, and that is because Windows 11 does not assign a letter and path to it. This can be fixed by simply running the disk manager, and setting the drive letter manually.

I just simpley solved by "Previous version of the configuration" option! Thanks!

I can't believe that there is an issue with this general situation. In my case issuse is occurs by removing the existing M.2 and installing the new M.2. 😔

Hello, I have the same problem.

    I use 3 VNMe disks 1 x 980 Pro and 2 x 990 Pro.

When I boot on Windows 11 Pro 24H2 I select the VNMe drivers and I have the error code.

I have no problem with a new installation of Windows 11 Pro 23H2.

When I went from version 23H2 to 24H2 I even had a problem with the activation of my license or I have the message already installed on another computer.

And since version 24h2 refuses to detect my VNMe disks, I am stuck.

On the other hand when I let the PC start normally it boots of course but VNMe.

    Kind regards

Hello KainThornn, welcome to the Microsoft Community!

Based on your feedback, you are experiencing installing Windows 11 Home Edition into a new computer and the installation crashes when discovering SSD availability

As you mentioned this is usually related to SSD detection or partitioning issues.

Here are a few steps you can try to resolve this issue:

    1. Check the hard disk:

If your computer currently has a system and is still accessible

You can try searching for cmd and running it in administrator mode

    Type chkdsk c: /f

Wait for the check to complete and see if it checks and fixes the problem.

Disclaimer: Running chkdsk checks the file system and file system metadata of a volume for logical and physical errors. To avoid causing unnecessary trouble, please follow the above steps step by step and do not interrupt or cancel during the run, and make a backup of important data.

If you can not enter the system, you can try to see if it can be completed in winre

You need to force the computer to switch on and off three times

Then go to WinRE and click Troubleshooting > Advanced Options > Command Prompt.

Then try the above commands again to see if you can check if there is any problem with the hard disk.

    1. Format the disk

Try to format your disk completely.

Because I don't know if you can get to the desktop from within the system.

    or into the Winre environment

So if you can access it, you can give me feedback and I will provide you with the next steps to format the disk.

Lastly, I would like to check with you, what is the model number of your computer?

I hope the above information is helpful, please let me know if there is any progress, and I look forward to hearing from you further!
