Ah yes, unfortunately. Then you need to buy a new license. Sorry.
I'm upgrading my CPU and Motherboard at the same time, will I have issues upon first boot with windows activation or usage?
As context:
I haven't replaced a motherboard or cpu before.
My current motherboard is an MSI Z97 PC Mate (MS-7850), and my processor is an Intel i7-4790k.
My upgrade choices are motherboard - MSI MAG B650 Tomahawk Wifi Gaming motherboard and the new processor will be a Ryzen 7 78003xd.
I am currently running windows 10.
I have heard mixed responses saying that it's an absolute nightmare to do or it's super simple and windows will take care of updates and swap easily.
What are steps that I can take to make this process as painless as possible?
Do you see any potential issues that I can try to avoid etc.
Any tips would be helpful thank you!

2024-11-14T00:44:57+00:00 You cannot transfer an OEM license to the new motherboard. It is tied to your current hardware. You will need to purchase a new license. Microsoft no longer sells Windows 10 as support is ending next October. Do you know if your PC will be compatible with Windows 11 with the new motherboard and processor?

2024-11-14T00:51:38+00:00 Based on a cursory google search it appears that windows 11 is compatible with the MSI MAG B650 Tomahawk motherboard, and the Ryzen 7 78003xd.
Is there a way to get an inexpensive key to the retail version of windows 11?

2024-11-14T00:19:34+00:00 Windows activation will depend on the type of license you have. If you have a retail license, you will be have no problem with activating it with your new motherboard and processor.
Can you please type cmd in the search on the taskbar and hit enter to launch command prompt, then run the following command:
slmgr /dlv
Then share a screenshot please. This will show the type of license you have with your Windows.
