Not able to print HP Laserjet 1020

Good day all,

I saw that similar questions and situations happened in the past concerning the same subject.

I tried all the mentioned work arounds and still doesn't work as of today.

I recently had to reinstate my Windows 11 with a ISO copy to fix a problem with Microsoft Print to PDF and since, my physical HP Laserjet 1020 doesn't print anymore.

Any help would be appreciated.

I was finally able to resolve the problem after many hours.

*** I had to go in the Device Manager and remove anything in relevance with HP Printer ***

I think it was the EEE (something) adapter that was creating the problem.

Since it is an old printer connected by USB it can only pass through the port USB001.

    Bonjour Claude,

You have to choose to add the printer "manually". In that process you are at one stge requested to choose a "Port". As far as I remember you get a preselction of around 10 "Ports". Don't accept the preselected one, but select instead one at the end of the list which have the HP 1020 in it's name. Fnish the installation and for me it worked! Please let me know if this helped!!

    Bonne chance

My 1020 finally worked when, while istalling, I changed from the suggested port to something at the bottom of the list called "HP1020 USB port" or similar. (Idea came from a guy on YouTube who suggested changing to the "virtual USB port", which did not function for me.)

Sorry, but I have had this printer for over 10 years, I always postponed updating the driver knowing something like this would happen.

Like mentioned, I already tried all fixes found on the Internet.

I tried multiple driver versions and the Doctor analyse fix.
