My virtual ram is not being used

I have added 15360MB of virtual memory as minimum.(shown below) Previously, my system was functioning well, using about 20-40% of my virtual memory, and gaming ran smoothly without crashes. However, after I accidently moved my power cable while playing Valorant and immediately turning off my PC, I noticed that Windows stopped utilizing my virtual memory entirely after (as shown in the image) and started relying on the system working set instead. This change has significantly impacted my computer's performance, causing gaming FPS drops and frequent crashes. I've searched the internet extensively but haven't found any solutions. As a last resort, I’m seeking help to understand how I can get Windows to start using my virtual RAM again.

    Hi Ivan,

Thank you for your response and for offering to help. I understand that Windows dynamically manages virtual memory and may not use it constantly, even if it creates a page file on the SSD.

However, my concern is that before, the system was using virtual memory effectively, and everything, including gaming, was running smoothly without crashes. After the restart, Windows completely stopped using virtual memory and started relying on the system working set instead, which has negatively affected my PC’s performance and gaming experience.

Could you please help me understand why this change occurred and guide me on how to revert to the previous behavior where Windows utilized virtual memory properly?

    Thanks again for your assistance!

    Hi ,

Valorant, if you are reaching the RAM usage limit to use virtual memory even though you have an RTX 2060, there is something very wrong, let's go to the first steps first, you will access the virtual memory settings and set the Size manager for the system.

Then perform a clean boot and download PC Manager.

After opening PC Manager, click on boost and then storage scan.

    Hi,

The game experiencing instability is Valorant.

My PC configuration is as follows:

    • Processor (CPU): AMD Ryzen 5 3500X 6-Core Processor
    • Graphics Card (GPU): NVIDIA Geforce RTX 2060
    • RAM: Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4 16GB (2x8)
    • Storage: 256 GB SSD + 699 GB HDD + 699 GB HDD
    • Operating System: Windows 10 Pro

The main issue I'm facing is that the game isn't utilizing virtual memory as it should, resulting in FPS drops and crashes. Let me know if you need any more details.

    Thanks!

    Hi ,

I am Ivan, I will help you with this.

What is the correct configuration of your PC, even if it increases the virtual memory depending on the game, it does not mean that it will remain in use as it creates a file for use on the SSD

    Thanks
