Win 11 24H2 update doesn't let change the taskbar color nor icon size and the right-click menu lost all but two options.

After installing the recent 24H2 version downgrade, I notice my taskbar had changed. The icons size was larger and the color didn't conform to my theme. Also, I used be able to right-click on the taskbar and get a long list of menu option including Properties where I could change those thing. Now, only get two: "Task Manager" and "Taskbar Settings." Selecting "Taskbar Setting" takes one to Taskbar Settings page (same as windows key +I, Personalization + Taskbar). But there is no way there to change icon size or taskbar color. Nor can I change the taskbar color in Colors or in Themes. Since I didn't like the new look, I backed out update.

    Hi AnkrumAG,

    I've had very similar problems after the same Win 11 24H2 update:

    1)- no right-click pop-up menus available from taskbar items ; all are now un-responsive ie., "dead";

    2)- same goes for the bottom-right "internet access" icon and the "sound" icon on the right-hand system tray of taskbar;

    3)- the above malfunctions (no2) cannot be corrected via personalization / taskbar in Settings menu, nor in the Time & language settings;

    4)-the System Tray and Action Center pop-up dashboard, in the bottom right-hand corner, has disappeared!! Gone are the "Quick settings" panel !!

    OK then.

    Repeated re-boots do nothing at all to rectify the problem. Guess I'll just have to do like you AG, & simply remove that 11 24H2 update.... great stuff indeed!!

    As for the colour settings in the taskbar, it's more of the same - non-functional options in Taskbar settings / Personalisation....

    I think you should provide a more detailed information on how to deal with these issues especially on the taskbar size, since there is no option to change it like before after the update, is there any other way? Just try and be more precise kindly! If the installation was corrupted, how can we do it the right way then? Info like these is what am talking about.

    I am having the same issues.

    Removing the action center edit ability hurt me ( and the company) the most.

    it is affecting all of our new Dell computers with 24H2 installed.

    Hi, I am Dave, I will help you with this.

    In the 24H2 update, there were no changes made to the Taskbar icons or settings, that installation may have been corrupt, also if you could not change the taskbar color, that is caused by the Personlaization - Color mode being set to light, that needs to be set to custom, then set Windows theme to dark and the option to change the taskbar color will then appear.
