System: Windows 11 Home 23H2

I have a speaker system hooked up to my computer, connected through an optical cable. The amp I use (Nakamichi AV-10) supports Dolby Digital and DTS surround. I tested the system with the Realtek Digital Output Properties, both Dolby Digital and DTs, and sound came from all speakers. The issue I am having comes from the fact that I have both Dolby Access and DTS Sound Unbound installed from the Microsoft Store, but Dolby Home Theater or DTS is not showing up on the spatial sound options. I tried reinstalling the apps, reinstalling the drivers, unplugging and replugging the optical cables, updating to the latest drivers, rolling back drivers, and installing Dolby AC3 codecs. I know from the sound test that speakers work, its just that I cannot get Dolby or DTS to show on the spatial sound options.

Hi Welcome to Microsoft community. I understand the issue you’re facing with Dolby and DTS. The fact that Dolby and DTS are not showing up in the spatial sound options in Windows 11 can be caused by several factors. Below are possible causes and solutions to guide you. Driver Compatibility Issues: Even if you have installed the latest drivers, there may be compatibility issues with specific hardware.Spatial Sound Settings: The spatial sound settings in Windows may not be configured correctly, or the audio device you are currently using may not support Dolby and DTS.Software Conflicts: Software like Dolby Access or DTS Sound Unbound may be experiencing conflicts or may not function properly.Check Audio Device Settings:Open the Start menu and go to "Settings" > "System" > "Sound."In the "Output" section, select your current audio device and click on "Device Properties." In the "Advanced" tab, check if the default format is compatible with Dolby Digital or DTS. Spatial Sound Settings: In the "Sound" settings, click on the spatial sound option under the output device and check if Dolby Atmos or DTS is displayed. If not, skip this step and proceed with other methods. Reinstall Audio Drivers:Open Device Manager and expand "Sound, video and game controllers." Right-click your audio device and select "Update Driver," then choose "Uninstall Device." After that, restart your PC to allow Windows to automatically reinstall the driver. Check Dolby Access and DTS Sound Unbound Settings:Open both applications and check the settings to ensure they are configured correctly. In Dolby Access, check for an option to "Enable Dolby Atmos" and activate it. Check Audio Formats: Ensure that specific audio formats are enabled. Confirm that Dolby Digital and DTS are active in "Realtek Digital Output Properties." If the problem persists, it may be due to additional hardware or software compatibility issues, so consider reaching out to the manufacturer for support. If you have any further questions, feel free to ask! Best regardsDerrick Qian | Microsoft Community Support Specialist
