24H2 update is making my computer freeze and crash

Often now when I boot up it doesn’t load windows properly and I have to restart using the power button. If I get it booted up it works ok for a whole and then after between 30mins and a few hours starts freeze until nothing will work.

I have recovered the oldest recovery option and that seemed to help at first and now it’s gone back to the same issues.

I’ve tried to uninstall the update but it shows an error message and suggests resetting the PC which has to be a last resort as it will take me a week to reinstall everything and I have to work. Then the likelihood is it still won’t work because of the version of windows. Help please

I've been running windows 11 since it was released. It worked just fine before the 24H2 update

Just wanted to add my experience as well.

Been running Win11 Pro 23H2 for a while and it's been great. No crashes for a year or so.

Updated to 24H2 earlier today and already had 3 hard crashes where I have to hold the power button to reboot.. Haven't had to do that in a VERY long time. Something definitely bugged with this update.

Both times were gaming (Far Cry 5 and Diablo 2R).

    Thanks

Unfortunately there is no "Go Back" option in the Recovery section, I had looked for this option to try previously but there was nothing there

Yes, this is a repair in-place upgrade. Your files and apps will remain safe if you follow the instructions. This is not like the usual process of reinstalling Windows; it is intended only to repair the system. Thank you!
