Paradoxal Error Code 0xc00000e9

Hello,

Recently I updated my PC from windows 10 pro to windows 11. I couldn't do upgrade to windows 11 before because TPM 2.0 wasn't enabled. Si found how to activate it through the BIOS and I then saw - through the App PC Health Check provided by Microsoft - that my computer was compatible wtih Windows 11. So I installed Windows 11 with the help of Windows Assistant - found in the Microsoft website - and everyhting worked fine.

However, 2 days later, once I started my computer I got a blue screen with error code 0xc00000e9. So i disconnected all devices of my computer - unless keyboard and mouse - and nothing happened. So I watched a brief tutorial on youtube that said to go in BIOS and return to default settings. So I just did that and luckily enough, I got to access windows once more. However, I couldn't play some games because, by returning my BIOS to default settings, TPM 2.0 was now disabled. Therefore, I restarted my computer and enabled TPM 2.0 once again only to find out that the blue screen with error code 0xc00000e9 appeared once again and I couldn't access windows. I did the same process over and over changing some BIOS settings only to definitivly conlude that the activation of TPM 2.0 lead to error code 0xc00000e9 but without TPM 2.0 my use of Windows 11 was limited.

At that point, I tried to reinitialise Windows 11 through Settings - by downloading a new Windows 11 explotation system through the cloud and by deleting all files. However, once the download of Windows through cloud has reached 100%, nothing happens. I let the computer be for 1 hour and more but nothing happened and the screen was still on " Dowloading - 100% ; PC will restart automatically". I tried again 2 more times but same thing happened. So I tried to reinstall Windows 11 - an option that was purposed in the same Settings page of Reinitialise computer - but again, nothing happened. Finally I tried to return back to windows 10, but it said that the files to return to windows 10n were no where to be found so I couldn't.

Now I am at a dead-end : I can't reinitialise my PC, I can't reinstall Windows 11, I can't go back to Windows 10, I need TPM 2.0 to fully use Windows 11 but activation of TPM 2.0 leads me to error code 0xc00000e9.

Is there a way to enable TPM 2.0 while not triggering error code 0xc00000e9 ? Is there even a solution ? Or should I format my SSD and reinstall windows manualy through USB key ?

I'll be eternally greatful if you help me out on this one.

Thank you,

Have a nice day.

Hello Chérif SADEK and welcome to the Microsoft Community.

According to your feedback, you are experiencing a blue screen on Win11 after enabling TPM2.0.

    1. Enable Secure Boot: You can try to enable “Secure Boot” in bios while booting TPM2.0.

to see if the problem still exists

Disclaimer: If you will still try to modify the BIOS settings, please backup your important data first.

    1. Update BIOS/UEFI: Check your motherboard manufacturer's website to download and install the latest BIOS/UEFI update. This may resolve the compatibility issue.
    2. Update drivers: Make sure all hardware drivers are up-to-date, especially those related to the motherboard and TPM.
    3. Reset TPM: In Windows, you can reset the TPM by going to “Settings > Update and Security > Windows Security > Device Security > Security Processor Details > Security Processor Troubleshooting”.
    4. Upload blue screen logs: If it still doesn't work, you can now upload blue screen logs to me after installing Win11 as follows

    Collect blue screen logs

    The method is as follows:

    1. first right click on “this computer” and open “properties”.
    2. then open “Advanced System Settings”.
    3. Then click on “Settings” for Startup and Failure Recovery.
    4. Once inside, you can see the blue screen file under “Dump Files”.

    (%SystemRoot%MEMORY.DMP)

    1. After viewing, just click the windows key to search for MEMORY.DMP can be found.

It is worth noting that the TPM is a physical chip, this chip may have hardware problems, which can also lead to problems!

Therefore, if you have not solved your problem by following the above methods, then you can upload the blue screen log to me and test your motherboard at the same time.

This is also suggested in the link above, which you can refer to so that you will have some understanding of the issue as well

I hope you find the above information helpful
