I am SO SICK of Windows Spotlight. I set my background and Lock Screen to certain pictures but Windows 11 changes them EVERY DAY!!!!! And I don't have it set to Windows Spotlight. I really hate Microsoft FORCING us to use their stuff WHEN I HATE IT. I swear, I'm gunna go to school and learn how to rip Windows Spotlight out of Microsoft's software. It's HORRIBLE!
How do i permanently delete Windows Spotlight?
After the latest windows update which I was forced to do I now have this stupid "learn about this picture" icon appeared. Researching I found this is to do with Windows Spotlight.
I don't want windows spotlight. I don't need windows spotlight and as far as I'm concerned windows spotlight is by definition a virus on my system (installed without my consent and impossible to remove it seems). I never agreed to install this quite frankly useless (to me) piece of software and it is messing up my other desktop backgrounds that i prefer to use.
I want to permanently delete it from my system but so far have been unable to find an answer on how to do this. It must be possible.
Could someone tell me the steps i need to take to delete this piece of software from MY desktop computer.
I have found other forums and answers that say you need to download other software to be able to remove this software but I want to know the steps on how to remove it from my system without downloading some dodgy back door app that will likely infest my computer.

2024-10-01T18:38:37+00:00 I agree with James King9 completely. Copilot, also installed without my permission, is also a virus. And this thing that keeps coming up when I click "Start" telling me that I have an important message," but in fact is just a sales pitch for Windows 365 when I already have Windows Professional on my PC, is also a virus. And I don't care how fast Microsoft thinks my computer is, I notice the difference in its speed now with all this spyware that Microsoft puts on our computers. Eventually, someone in government is going to get tired of it and try to pass a bill to handcuff this type of activity by Microsoft, Google and the rest of them. When they do, I will be the first in line to cast my ballot for it.
