Most likely it is the App Center software that installed that driver, it may be best to uninstall that, restart your PC, then download the latest available version of that utility from the support page for your PC on the manufacturers website.
The "gdrv2.sys" Driver is Not Loading on ABS Computer
I woke this morning and updated my computer to the Windows 11 24H3 update, only to see a driver error about some system settings that are not correct. However, when I look it up, all I see are highly technical answers that I have no idea how to read.
Is there anyone that can dumb this down to me like I'm five? lol I'm not a coder or an IT guy. Just a regular person trying to make sure his $1,300 computer isn't going to be rendered useless.
For the record, my computer is a gaming computer, but I don't game. I got it because of the power I needed and expandability for video editing. If this driver is unnecessary and the error message is perfectly harmless for my purposes, please tell me so. Otherwise, I may just uninstall the recent Windows 11 updates that I did this morning.

gdrv2.sys is a driver that is usually installed as part of the Gigabyte Tools utility or Gigabyte Firmware Updater utility on a PC, do you have any app like that installed on your PC?

2024-12-22T23:20:50+00:00 Hey Dave! Thank you...any help is appreciated!
Yes, my computer has Gigabyte software. I was able to make the connection that the driver has to do with the Gigabyte software, but the next steps are a little confusing based on the research I attempted to do. lol...I'm not even sure what Gigabyte runs on my PC though. My computer is an ABS Master, if that helps any.
I did end up reverting to the Windows 11 24H2 and disabling kernel isolation for now, just to keep it back to normal like it was before the recent update. I don't download from strange websites and am generally cautious on the internet, so I didn't think that would be a problem if I had to do it temporarily.
