there's an old now deleted folder on my laptop's sidebar that I've wanted to get rid of for a while but whenever I try to right click and delete it the option is nowhere to be seen nor does the option to unpin it. attempting to open it gives me the error message provided here

    Hello DonavanLee,

    Thank you for reaching out to the Microsoft Community and I'll be glad to assist you today.

    1. Open the Registry Editor - Click the Windows + R key, type regedit and click Ok.
    2. Navigate to the following folder:

    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Desktop\NameSpace

    You will have two subkeys under the folder.

    1. The default OneDrive Subkey will have the folder name is -
      {018D5C66-4533-4307-9B53-224DE2ED1FE6}

    Note - Do not make any changes to the OneDrive SubKey.

    1. Select the other Subkey folder and change its value data to 0 (or) Delete the subkey.

    • Once deleted, restart your computer.

    Disclaimer: Generally, modifying registry subkeys or work group is intended for advanced users, administrators, and IT Professionals. It can help fix some problems, however, serious problems might occur if you modify the registry incorrectly. Therefore, make sure that you follow these steps carefully. For further protection, back up the registry before you modify it. Then, you can restore the registry if a problem occurs.
