Microsoft Notebook Receiver v2.0 Model 1051 issue

Hi. I found a Microsoft Notebook Receiver v2.0 Model 1051 in my old records. I know it's mine but I have no idea what's on it (photos probably). Is there any way I can pull whatever is on this device off, or at least view it? I am not tech savvy so the only thing I've tried so far is seeing if I can get the device to show up under settings...it did not. I did plug it in to the back of the desktop and pushed the "connect" button...nothing. Thanks!

    Hi, Paula Marker

    Welcome to Microsoft Community.

According to your description, you have a Microsoft Notebook Receiver v2.0 Model 1051 device. Then you want to know if it stores anything.

My friend, have you tried searching the name of this device?

This is just a receiver for connecting a wireless mouse, and there is actually no chip that stores any information.

It is not a USB storage device like a USB flash drive. It is just a device similar to an antenna.

    Best Regards,

Hi. I’m new to this so don’t really know what I’m doing but I definitely don’t need payment for the device! Probably not postage either unless it is somehow stupid expensive 😬. How do I get your mailing info?
