Using PowerDirector on Windows 11 – Any Tips for Best Performance?

Hi,
I recently started using PowerDirector for video editing on my Windows 11 laptop. It works great for the most part, but sometimes it feels a bit slow when working with 4K videos.

Does anyone have tips to optimize performance on Windows 11? Maybe some settings I can tweak, or should I consider upgrading my hardware?

Also, are there any alternatives that run more smoothly on Windows?

Thanks in advance!

    Hi ,

    Thank you for reaching out!

My name is Stefano and it’s my pleasure to assist you today.

4K video editing requires of powerful CPUs and GPUs; it's normal it requires some time to perform video editing.

We can't provide support for third party softwares or recommend third party softwares, but you can perform searches in Bing or other search engine where you can find articles and comparisons between the most recent softwares.

Here are some tips to optimize PowerDirector’s performance for 4K video editing and some alternative suggestions:

As general information I suggest you check to have enabled the Hardware Acceleration option for your software at:

    • Go to PowerDirector’s preferences/settings.
    • Enable hardware acceleration for rendering and preview.
    • Ensure your GPU drivers are up-to-date.
    • Shut down unnecessary programs to free up system resources.

    Optimize Windows 11:

    • Turn off visual effects (Control Panel > System > Advanced System Settings > Performance).

** Recommended minimum hardware configuration for frequent video editing users :

RAM to at least 16GB or 32GB for smoother 4K editing.

GPU: A dedicated graphics card like

    Fast writing and reading SSD

Is there anything else I can assist you with today?

    Kind regards,

    Stefano
