Video slightly ahead of audio in Youtube and other apps

I was watching on Youtube and noticed this (though I've noticed it before), and noticed the same thing in Apple TV. Is there anything I can do to fix this? I've restarted my computer and that doesn't help.

Regarding #1: This occurs both with wired headphones and speakers

Regarding #2: I cannot find these settings, but it occurs across apps.

EDIT: I found the setting in Windows Settings which may help but the problem with that is that slows down or breaks several games that I play. So Any other alternative would be preferable

Regarding #3: This is a stable network connection. I stream, download, and play games all the time with no problem.

Regarding #4: Drivers are up to date

    Regarding #5: Occurs whether 48000hz or 44100hz

Is there no simple option to adjust the synchronization of A/V?

    Hello,JG143

Welcome to posting in the Microsoft Community.

I understand that you are experiencing audio and video desynchronization while watching a video and are experiencing the same issue across multiple applications.

Based on your description, this issue can be caused by a variety of reasons, including hardware performance issues, network latency, playback device settings, or audio device latency. Typically, video and audio need to be decoded and synchronized in real time when streaming, which can result in video being faster than audio if the device performance is insufficient, the network transmission is not stable enough, the audio hardware latency is large, or the decoding mechanism of the player is faulty. This situation is also more common when using wireless audio devices (such as Bluetooth headsets), as Bluetooth audio itself has a certain delay.

1- Check the audio device: If you are using Bluetooth headphones or speakers, it is recommended to switch to a wired audio device for testing. Bluetooth devices usually introduce audio latency, while wired devices can effectively rule out this cause.

2- Adjusting player settings: In apps such as YouTube and Apple TV, you can check if there is a “Hardware Acceleration” option in the settings options of these apps, and if there is one, turn it off or lower the playback quality (e.g., set the resolution to 720p). Hardware acceleration may cause problems with audio and video synchronization, while lowering the resolution will reduce the decoding burden and ensure audio and video synchronization.

3- Test network connection: Make sure you are using a stable network connection, preferably a wired network or a stable Wi-Fi network, you can observe if there are similar problems on other websites to determine if there is a network problem. If there are similar problems on other websites or applications, it means we may need to check the network next, you can reply to me to let me know. An unstable network can cause the audio and video streams to load out of sync with each other, which in turn triggers this issue.

4- Update drivers and system software: Check and update the audio drivers, graphics card drivers and firmware of related devices. Driver and system updates may include fixes for synchronization issues, it is recommended that you go to your computer's official website to download the latest version of the driver, override the installation on your system, and then reboot your device to observe the problem. If you find that the problem has occurred recently, you can also revert back to the previous driver or system to observe the situation.

5- Calibrate Audio Synchronization: If you are watching on Apple TV, you can try to re-calibrate the audio synchronization by going to Audio Settings; for Windows, you can also try to adjust the audio format in System Audio Settings, for example, to change the sampling frequency. You can use the Win+R shortcut and type mmsys.cpl to open the Sound window, find your output device, double-click to open the Properties window and then you can adjust the sampling frequency. When you make changes to test, but found no effect, please remember to change back, keep the original state is not easy to appear more errors.

After you refer to the above steps, you can share some information in this thread and I will answer your questions further. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation!

    Best Regards,
