Dear Phu Hiep Duong,
Welcome to the Microsoft Community
To use the Vietnamese Telex input method with an AZERTY keyboard layout in Windows 11, you can follow these steps to adjust both the Vietnamese input method and your keyboard layout settings. Unfortunately, the built-in Vietnamese Telex IME does not support direct configuration for AZERTY layouts.
However, you can achieve this configuration through a combination of setting the AZERTY layout and using third-party software or registry tweaks if necessary.
Step 1: Install the Vietnamese Telex Keyboard
- Press Win + I to open Settings.
- Go to Time & Language > Language & region.
- Under Preferred languages, click on Add a language.
- Search for Vietnamese, select it, and click Next.
- Ensure Set as my Windows display language is unchecked (unless you want the whole system in Vietnamese).
- Click Install.
- After installation, click on Vietnamese under Preferred languages.
- Click on Options and then Add a keyboard.
- Select Vietnamese Telex.
Step 2: Configure the AZERTY Layout
- Return to Time & Language > Language & region settings.
- Click on French (France) (or your specific version of French).
- Click on Options and ensure that the French (AZERTY) keyboard layout is added.
- In the Language options, make sure that the AZERTY layout is set as your default input method.
Step 3: Using Third-Party Software
Unikey is a widely used Vietnamese input method editor that can be customized to work with different keyboard layouts, including AZERTY.
Disclaimer: Microsoft provides no assurances and/or warranties, implied or otherwise, and is not responsible for the information you receive from the third-party linked sites, or any support related to technology.
- Visit the Unikey website and download the appropriate version for your system.
- Run the downloaded installer and follow the installation instructions.
- Open Unikey and go to Configuration.
- Select Telex as the input method.
- In the Keyboard Layout section, ensure it matches your AZERTY layout.
- In the Unikey settings, check the option to start with Windows to ensure it's always ready.
If you run into specific issues, referring to the documentation provided by Unikey or consulting additional keyboard layout tools may be helpful.
Feel free to reach out if you need further assistance or have additional questions.
