on windows 11 I have accidently formatted a hard drive. Now I want to recover data but not able to do so. Firstly I tried with disk drill software but could not recover it. Then I sent into a data recovery company Steller but they said its due to windows 11 problem that we can not recover it. Can anyone suggest what exactly can be done to recover data as it is very important data.

Usually those 3rd party recovery companies can restore the data on the drive but if the drive was encrypted, then that would be why they cannot recover data from the drive.

Do you know if you had your drive encrypted with Bitlocker?

that means according to you it will not be recovered. If they are blaming windows 11 for it there has to be some way to do.it.

Hi, I am Dave, I will help you with this.

Widows does not have any data recovery function that is native to the operating system, the only hope you have of recovering data in that drive is to use some 3rd party recovery tool to try to recover the partition on that drive if you have formatted the drive, and if you previously had your device encrypted with Bitlocker, it will not be possible to recover data from that drive, if Stellar indicated the partition cannot be recovered, then most likely you had the drive encrypted.
