pop ups - can't delete

I have a win 10 dual boot pc. There are 3 windows that popped up on my desktop recently, all 3 are overlaid on one another. One pop up is from 'iTop Data Recovery', one is 'iobit for software upgrade' and I think the 3rd pop up is 'Advance System Care'. I've deleted the software of these programs off my pc but the pop ups remain on my desktop. They cover almost the entire screens ( dual monitors ), How can I fix this ?

Thank you

dave w.

    Dear dave w.1,

    Welcome to the Microsoft Community

It sounds like you have some persistent popup windows that remain on your desktop even after you've uninstalled the associated software.

Here are several suggestions you can take to resolve the issue.

Check and Remove Leftover Registry Entries and Files

Press Win + R, type regedit, and press Enter to open the Registry Editor.

Search for any leftover keys associated with the uninstalled software:

    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software[SoftwareName]

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE[SoftwareName]

Be cautious with the Registry Editor and delete only the entries related to the uninstalled software.

Navigate to C:\Program Files and C:\Program Files (x86) and manually delete any leftover folders associated with the uninstalled software.

Use Task Manager to End Pop-Up Processes

Press Ctrl + Shift + Esc to open Task Manager.

    Go to the Processes tab.

Look for any processes that might have the names associated with the popups or the uninstalled software.

Right-click on the process and select End task.

    Check Startup Programs

Press Ctrl + Shift + Esc to open Task Manager.

    Go to the Startup tab.

Disable any suspicious or unnecessary entries related to the uninstalled software.

    Boot into Safe Mode

    Open Settings > System> Recovery.

Under Advanced startup, click Restart now.

After your PC restarts to the Choose an Option screen, select Troubleshoot > Advanced options > Startup Settings > Restart.

After your PC restarts again, press 4 to choose Safe Mode.

In Safe Mode, try to remove any persistent pop-ups or remaining files.

By following these steps, you should be able to remove the persistent pop-up windows from your desktop and ensure that no traces of the uninstalled software remain.

If you have any further questions or need additional assistance, please feel free to ask.
