Can't install windows 10 or 11 , fails at 78-79% range

My PC runs very stable without any issues during long renders, gaming sessions, or staying awake for days. However, it's unable to upgrade to Windows 11 through online updates. Surprisingly, attempts to set up Windows 11 or 10 from a USB installation drive have also failed. Even using the Windows Media Creation Tool with two different USB flash drives, targeting two different hard drives, and attempting to install Windows 10 resulted in failure consistently around 77% to 79%.

After each failed installation, I restart the USB installation process and try to select the previously created partition, only to encounter an error stating the disk cannot be selected and advising to refresh the list. To proceed, I always have to remove all partitions on that drive without creating a new one, for the Windows installer to recognize it as a valid disk. If there's an existing partition on the drive, it cannot be selected.

I've tried various drives and unplugged everything except NICs, but the issue persists. Memory diagnostics and CHKDSK show no issues. I'm attaching the logs for setupact and setuperr for further investigation:

Currently, usng my current windows installation but i dont like the fact that i would not be able to install windows to this if i wanted to...

I found a solution after 7h trying to do it today. So they key is to plug out the pen drive at some point. I'm honestly not sure exactly when because once I pulled it out it showed me that the installation has failed. But then couple of tries later where I was isntalling and getting to 77%, then I turned off my computer, plugging the pen drive OUT then then turning it on again, it worked. Note that I was trying to install windows 11 on a new laptop without OS. Hope this helps

Well i have i exhausted all options so far, Maybe it was not clear on my previous messages but i have done these already. I have been trying to solve this issue for three days now and i am windows user since 1997.

I have no issue with ,
removing all unnecessary devices from the motherboard.

Creating a windows 11 ISO with a media creation tool.
    Latest bios

    And

I am able to pass the first phase of the installationwhere it starts installing the files from the created USB tool, the installer progresses upto 76% percent then restarts without error.

But once install continues from the newly prepared SSD, BSODS occur. (tired three different disks, checked the all with CKHKDSK
And as you have stated, the log files https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1-IJbbl6e4fCmiGwz52kj19cFoHN9GL65?usp=sharing dont indicate a clear flaw with it and i find that QUITE ridiculous, microsoft should do better.

I have zero issues with windows 10 x64 on this system and i think i am better of not touching any new microsoft products for a while... maybe until windows 12....https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1-IJbbl6e4fCmiGwz52kj19cFoHN9GL65?usp=sharing%EF%BF%BC%EF%BF%BCWhyStill curious but not that curious , come to think about it...

    Hello,
It turned out , due to my already working quite fine windows 10 installation on one of the m.2 hard drives was causing confusion, thus leading to the "installation failed" message around the 77%-78% mark...

So the issue was having an "another disk with boot record" that confused and crashed the installer, one would think an installer be able to handle that...

after removing that m.2 drive, system restarted to continue with the installation of windows 11. But i had other problems after that, such as blue screens on the first black screen where windows files are setup, i face multiple types of bluescreen errors, which also convinced me to update my bios from 2022.

The bluescreen errors were so varied and frequent that if i had not known my system being stable would make me think my motherboard or ram was recovered from a landfill.

Anyways, now with most non-beta bios on the mobo, i think i will be able to install windows 11 this time.

    Update:

It worse as ever, even with the new bios, windows 11 installation is failing.

When i first install it, it only installs upto 76% then it warns me of a restart (no errors, having it restart at 76% is bizzarre...is it normal?)

then, after restart, the real installation begins, installing updates, setting up devices....BAM first blue screen - IRQL_GT_ZERP_AT_SYSTEM_SERVICE

    Restarts but this time KERNEL_MODE_HEAP_CORRUPTION
    Another restart IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL (what failed:ntoskrnl.exe)
    Another restart KERNEL_SECURITY_CHECK_FALIRE

    Another restart : SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION

    Another restart : DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL(what failed: ndis.sys)

Let me remind you that , my pc is actually quite stable and error free under windows 10x64.

    Motherboard: X570 PRIME Pro

    CPU: AMD 5950x

After giving up, i returned to my windows 10 OS and noticed that the disk that i tried installing windows 11 to , did not get a drive letter due to windows installation finalizing perhaps, after making it online, i could reach the "$WINDOWS.~BT\Sources\Panther" folders

    https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1-IJbbl6e4fCmiGwz52kj19cFoHN9GL65?usp=sharing
    Why
is there a windows 11 anyway!....

    Hello,

Thanks for reaching out here in the Microsoft Answers Community.

Based on the setup logs, it seems that the installation error is caused by a disk issue. There may be special setups on your hard drive, so we need to check.

Please right-click Start->Disk management, and provide a screenshot showing the current disks and partitions.

Then, right-click Start->Device manager, expand the "Disk drives", "IDE ATA/ATAPI controllers", and "Storage controllers" section, and provide a screenshot as well.

We look forward to your response.

    Best Regards,
