Hi, I am an Independent Advisor.
Let me help you with this issue.
The Intel Core i5-7300U CPU, which belongs to Intel's 7th generation (Kaby Lake), is not officially supported for Windows 11. This is primarily due to its lack of TPM 2.0 (Trusted Platform Module) and Secure Boot, both of which are required for Windows 11. Microsoft’s compatibility list for Windows 11 generally includes Intel processors from the 8th generation and beyond, so the i5-7300U does not meet the hardware specifications. While it is unlikely that Microsoft will update the compatibility list to include older CPUs like the i5-7300U, the lack of TPM 2.0 and Secure Boot support remains a significant barrier.
Although Windows 11 cannot officially be installed on unsupported hardware, it is technically possible to bypass some of the checks, such as TPM and CPU requirements, by modifying the installation process. However, this could lead to issues, including a lack of support or future updates, and is not recommended by Microsoft. If your PC is working well with Windows 10 and you are satisfied with its performance, there is no immediate need to upgrade to Windows 11. Microsoft has committed to providing support for Windows 10 until at least 2025, giving you plenty of time before you need to consider making a change. Ultimately, while you could try installing Windows 11 with workarounds, sticking with Windows 10 on your current setup might be the best option for stability and long-term support.
