How do I change my default browser in Outlook 365?

I want all email & web links to take me to my default browser -- whether that be Chrome or Firefox.

Sound familiar (smile)?

Found a lot of suggestions with Google.

But have yet to find the magic bullet (i.e., solution) short of uninstalling Microsoft Edge.

    Thanks Jen.

In following your lead you helped me get to the steps I was looking for to prevent links in Outlook 365 from taking me to Edge instead of my default browser.

I think it was pure luck that I landed on this little 'gem' from last July.

How do I change my default browser in Outlook 365?

Open the Outlook Desktop App and go to File > Options > Advanced > scrolling down to Link Handling and changing the “Open hyperlinks from Outlook in:” option from Microsoft Edge to Default Browser and then clicking OK.

    Phew - problem solved.

Note: It would have helped the readers of my post if I framed my issue better. DONE.

Selecting a browser as default one in Windows Settings alone does not solve this.

After selecting your fav browser as Default in Windows System settings, go to Outlook, File->Options->Advanced -> File and browser Preferences -> Open hyperlinks from Outlook in : here change from "Microsoft Edge" to "Default Browser"

This will open all links from emails in your Default browser and not in Edge.

Hello! I'm Jen, and I'd be happy to help you out with this issue.

I'm sorry to hear you're experiencing this issue. Please verify if you have set your preferred browser as your default browser in Windows Settings. Click the Start button > Settings > Apps > Default Apps > Scroll down and look for Google Chrome or Firefox and select it > Click "Set default". Please make sure 'Mail' is set to open to your preferred browser as well. Let me know if this works. Thanks.

I hope this information helps. If you have any questions, please let me know and I'll be glad to assist you further.

    Best Regards!

    Jen :)

The fix above worked for links in emails. What I want to know is how do stop emails from opening in Edge when you click on the link to let you look at an email in a browser. When you click that it goes to Edge. I want it to go to Firefox. Firefox is my default browser.
