Hi marina morinni
Welcome to Microsoft Community.
Happy New Year! 🎄 Wishing you a happy holiday season and a new year filled with peace, happiness and success! ✨
Based on your description, I understand that you want to import photos and videos from your Android phone to your computer and flash drive, and I understand very well how you feel!
I will give you some suggestions which hopefully can help you transfer photos and videos data smoothly!
Please note: 1. Do not disconnect during the transfer as this may result in data loss!
2. The following steps may need to be adapted to the actual situation, and the following are examples of what I have described.
Option 1: Use a USB cable.
- Connect your Android device to your computer using a USB cable, making sure to use a compatible cable (usually the one that came with your device).
- On the Android device, you will usually see a notification about the USB connection. Click on it and select “File Transfer” or “MTP” mode.
- On a Windows 11 PC, open File Explorer by pressing “Windows + E” or clicking the File Explorer icon on the taskbar.
- Under “This PC” in the left pane, you should see your Android device listed. Click on it to access the files.
- Navigate to the “Internal Storage” or “DCIM” folder to find photos and videos. (For the exact path you can check the manual provided by your phone's brand to avoid copying the wrong data)
- Select the photos and videos you want to import. Right-click and select “Copy” (or press
Ctrl + C).
Go to your desktop or the folder where these files are stored, right-click and select “Paste” (or press Ctrl + V).
Option 2: Use a flash disk. (direct connection to the cell phone without the aid of a computer)
- If your flash drive has a standard USB connector, you may need a USB OTG (On-The-Go) adapter to connect your Android device, depending on the available ports.
- Connect the flash drive to your Android device via an OTG adapter.
- Open the File Manager app on your Android device (many devices come with the program pre-installed or you can download it from the Play Store).
Browse photos and videos as described above.
- Select the items you want to transfer and use the Copy option.
Navigate to the flash drive (which should appear in File Manager) and then paste the files into the flash drive.
- When the transfer is complete, safely eject the flash drive from your Android device before physically disconnecting it.
Option 3: We can also use some third party applications (cloud transfer)
For example, OneDrive, Google Drive, Google Photos, etc.
In this method, we just need to download and install the apps on our phone first, then login to our account and synchronize photos and videos to the apps.
Then just use the same app and account on your computer and download them locally.
After the download is complete, we can also copy the backup photos and videos from the computer to the flash drive.
There are a few more things that we need to be aware of.
- Make sure your Android device allows file access when connected to your computer, some devices may need to grant permissions.
- Faulty USB cables can disrupt the transfer process.
- Make sure your Android device has enough power during the transfer process.
Reminder again: Do not disconnect during the transfer as this may result in data loss!
I sincerely hope that the above solution will solve your problem. Please feel free to contact me (Photos related to the question would be great!).
I look forward to hearing back from you.Â
Best Regards
