Hello,Michael Putra Safan
Welcome to posting in the Microsoft Community.
From the information you provided, this issue is mainly caused by accidentally setting the resolution beyond the native support range of the monitor when using the HDMI to VGA adapter. This usually causes the display signal to become unstable, resulting in an “out of range” error. The use of HDMI to VGA adapter may also affect the system to read the EDID information of the monitor correctly, which may lead to abnormal display settings.
Ⅰ, use DDU to completely clean up the graphics card driver and reinstall it.
Run DDU in Safe Mode, completely remove the current graphics card driver and reboot the system, let Windows reinstall the base display adapter, and then go to the computer/graphics card manufacturer's website to install the latest graphics card driver. This will ensure that the system clears all possible driver configuration residues and incorrect settings and starts recognizing the monitor parameters again.
Ⅱ. Clear the monitor configuration file stored in the system.
The Windows system saves monitor configuration information, and sometimes this information may be incorrect or conflicting. By cleaning up these configuration files, you can force the system to recognize the monitor parameters again. You can find and clean these configuration information through the Registry Editor.
- Press Win + R, type regedit and press Enter.
- Find the following path:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Device Setup\Hardware Ids - You can also check the following path, where some information about the monitor configuration is also stored:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Enum\DISPLAY - Under the DISPLAY folder, you will see the registry entries for each monitor. Right-click on the entry associated with the extended monitor and select “Delete”. After completing the deletion, restart the computer for the changes to take effect.
Disclaimer: Generally, modifying registry subkeys or work group is intended for advanced users, administrators, and IT Professionals. It can help fix some problems, however, serious problems might occur if you modify the registry incorrectly. Therefore, make sure that you follow these steps carefully. For further protection, back up the registry before you modify it. Then, you can restore the registry if a problem occurs. For more information about how to back up and restore the registry, click How to back up and restore the registry in Windows - Microsoft Support to view the article.
III. Replacing the connection method
Temporarily remove the HDMI to VGA adapter and try to use the natively supported interface of the monitor to connect directly. If it is convenient, it is recommended to use a pure HDMI direct connection to the graphics card, which can reduce the signal conversion process may occur.
Ⅳ. If the problem still exists, manually adjust the settings of the monitor driver.
Please right-click the Start icon, select Device Manager, expand the display adapter list, right-click the properties of the monitor you are using, first lower the resolution to a lower safe value (e.g., 1024x768), to confirm that the display is normal, and then gradually adjust to the monitor's native resolution of 1366x768. This gradual adjustment can help to find the stable display settings.
After you refer to the above steps, you can share some information in this thread and I will answer your questions further. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation!
