In that case the best option would be to create a new user account for yourself on that PC, then log into that new account and delete your wife's account from the PC.

Open the Settings Ap, then go to Accounts - Other Users.

Click the 'Add Account' button and create a new account for yourself on the PC.

Restart the PC and log into that new account you have created for yourself.

Click the Start Button, then just type netplwiz and press Enter.

On the resulting utility, select your wife's account and click Remove.

    Thank you for that information.

Windows licence will not be a problem on that device, it has an OEM licence stored on the motherboard.

Currently on that PC, how many user accounts are there, is there separate login accounts for your self and your wife or just your wife's user account login?

The story is that I bought a new PC for my wife, as we had trouble with the temperature of the Nuc mikro pc.

I got it repaired wit a new ventilator, and ii works fine by now.

The new one has a i7 instead of i5 and get a bigger monitor so she can have more windows open at the same time.

My wife want a Spanish version and I want a Danish or English version.

So i want to use it in my garage where i have a nice hobby room, and I do not want her e-mails or files with down there.

privacy to my wife and me are essential.

Therefore i want it in my name and with my files, we both are on office 365, but I only need outlook, word and a browser and a couple of free apps.

The Nuc comes with windows 11 preinstalled likewise the new Nuc.

All 3 pc´s work on the same router, so it never goes out of the house.

    Thanks,

    Janus

Hi, I am Dave, I will help you with this.

    1

With regards to the Windows licence, where did you get Windows, was that pre-installed by the PC manufacturer on the PC or did you purchase Windows separately to the PC from Microsoft or form a 3rd party retailer?

If you log into Windows with a Microsoft account, you need to remove your account and all your data from the PC before you transfer the PC to your friend.

The best option is to reset Windows while choosing to keep nothing, so your account, including all data and all apps are removed from the PC, then when Windows restarts and asks to set up the user account, force the PC to shut down, and your friend can then set up their own user account.
