Hello, scrts123
Welcome to Microsoft Community.
To add tags in Windows, find the file you want to tag, right-click on it, and select "Properties." In the properties window, go to the "Details" tab. Under the "Description" section, find "Tags," click the empty space next to it, and type in your tags, separating them with semicolons. Finally, click "OK" to save.
Images (like JPEG) and Office documents (like DOCX, XLSX, PPTX) usually support tags, but not all file types do. Here are some examples of file types that typically do not support tags:
- PNG images: Unlike JPEG or JPG images, PNG files usually don't have the option to add tags.
- PDF documents: While some PDFs might support tags, many do not show the tags option in the properties window.
- ISO files: These disk image files also do not support tagging.
If you need to tag these unsupported file types, you might consider using third-party tools like File Meta Association Manager, which can enable tagging for more file types.
