Are you seeing a blue screen when you start your PC that is asking for a Bitlocker Recovery Key?
If that is the problem, that indicates your drive is encrypted with Bitlocker, the only place the Bitlocker key is automatically stored is on your Microsoft account online on the link below, be sure to check any Microsoft account that may have been used on the PC and also any work or school account that may be linked to the PC.

Your BitLocker recovery key was either stored as a file on an external hard drive, as a print out, or on your Microsoft account. To access the BitLocker recovery key from your Microsoft account, you will have to go to https://aka.ms/recoverykey and then sign in to the Microsoft Account that you linked Windows to.
