Why can't I take a Screenshot in Windows 11?

My work just gave me a new Laptop that is running Windows 11, and I use a LOT of Screenshots, and I cannot figure out why Windows 11 is not letting me take Screenshots.

When I press the 'Prt Scr' button, the screen turns grey, and a new little box appears on the top with a picture/video option, but neither of them is giving me a 'Screenshot' option.

It looks like Windows 11 is forcing users to use some kind of a snipping tool and removed the option for Screenshots completely.

Can anyone enlighten me on how to disable the windows snipping tool, or how to actually take screenshots within Windows 11?

Thank you,

Morgan.

Hi, I am Dave, I will help you with this.

To automatically take a screenshot in Windows 11, press the Windows Key + Prt Scr and the screenshot should automatically be saved into the Screenshots folder in your Pictures folder, does that method work on your new laptop?

None of the solutions presented here, or else where on google, work. I cannot take screen shots. Has anybody else figured out how to fix this 'new' broken product??

And this is what MICROSOFT call "Windows 11 makes capturing your screen easier than ever." (How to Take Screenshots on Windows 11 | Microsoft Windows) => by refusing to respect what was "taking a screenshot" so simple, just by pressing the "Prt Src" button...

Microsoft and ergonomics ? I had to deal with Windows 3.11, honestly where is the progress here ?

Whatever, the solution perfectly worked for me, the screenshot being saved in "C:\Users\eric\Pictures\Screenshots", yes my first name is "eric" !
