I am trying to understand how to use a scientific calculator for advanced calculations. Can anyone explain how to perform operations like trigonometric functions, logarithms, and exponents using a scientific calculator? Also, is there any online tool or app available to access a scientific calculator?

I found this useful online scientific calculator: Scientific Calculator. Does anyone know if it's accurate and reliable?

    Hi wakaskhookhar

    Welcome to Microsoft Community.

Based on your description, I understand that you would like to learn how to perform advanced calculations such as trigonometric functions, logarithms and exponents, etc. with a scientific calculator.

I see that you also seem to have found a scientific calculator through your search.

I will go through the different scenarios you have asked about and describe them for you and hopefully help you.

    1. how to do advanced calculations with a scientific calculator.

    (1) Trigonometric Functions.

Most scientific calculators have sine (sin), cosine (cos), and tangent (tan) buttons.

For example, we want to calculate sin(30°)

We can type in 30, then press the sin button -> then press the “=” button, which should display the result and be 0.5

    (2) Logarithmic.

For logarithms we need to find the “log” button in the scientific calculator.

For example, we need to calculate log(100).

We will first press 100 in the calculator -> then press the “log” button -> then click on the “=” button and we should see that the answer is 2

    (3) Square roots and other functions.

Square root functions usually have a specific button (usually labeled ).

For other roots or powers, use the exponential function.

Assuming that you don't find the text description particularly clear, you can also check out the videos on Youtube and other video sites, and you can also try to follow the steps I've described or the steps in the video once. Usually you will know exactly how to use the scientific calculator after you have done it once.

    1. I see you found a scientific calculator, which I tried to use.

I personally clean it pretty well and it is accurate and user friendly.

Other than that, I would personally recommend trying out Symbolab, Calculator.net, etc.

However, due to community rules, I can't provide you with more information about third-party calculators.

As it stands, the online scientific calculators you mentioned should be reliable, as many online calculators aim to provide accurate results.

I sincerely hope that the above information will help you. Please feel free to contact me (Photos related to the question would be great!).

I look forward to hearing back from you.

    Best Regards
