Computer Restarts When Launching Path of Exile 2 (Event ID 41, Bugcheck Code 59)

Hello,

I’ve been experiencing an issue where my computer restarts every time I try to launch Path of Exile 2. I checked the Event Viewer and found the following details:

  • Event ID: 41
  • Bugcheck Code: 59
  • Bugcheck Parameter1: 0xc

The problem happens immediately after launching the game. However, I ran an AIDA64 stress test for 90 minutes, and my system was stable during the test.

Here are my system specifications:

  • CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 5600X
  • GPU: NVIDIA RTX 3070
  • RAM: Corsair VENGEANCE RGB PRO DDR4 3200 16GB x 2 (CMW32GX4M2E3200C16)
  • PSU: Corsair SF750W
  • Motherboard: GIGABYTE B550I AORUS PRO AX
  • OS: Windows 11 23H2 (Build 22631.4602)

I’ve already:

  1. Updated all drivers (GPU, chipset, etc.).
  2. Verified the integrity of the game files.
  3. Monitored system temperatures, which are within normal ranges.

Could this issue be related to drivers, hardware, or a conflict with the game itself? Any guidance would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you.

Additional Information:

  • Event Log: blue.evtx that might be related to the issue.
  • There no files in minidump dir

I’ve done some further testing and observed the following:

When I launch POE2 (Path of Exile 2), I noticed in Task Manager that the disk usage of my C drive spikes to 100%, and the transfer speed drops significantly, almost to zero. Shortly after, the system crashes and automatically restarts.

I tried moving the game to my D drive to see if the issue persists. Unfortunately, the same problem occurs—the disk usage of my C drive spikes to 100%, even though the game is running from the D drive, and my system automatically restarts again.

My C drive is a Samsung 980 Pro, and my D drive is a Samsung 970 Evo Plus. I used CrystalDiskInfo to check both drives, and the results show they are healthy with no issues reported.

Additionally, when the crash occurs, it briefly flashes a blue screen for less than a second before automatically restarting. However, no minidump files are generated after these crashes, which makes troubleshooting more difficult.

I’m not sure what might be causing this behavior, and I’d appreciate your guidance on how to resolve it.

    Thank you for your help.

Currently, I only encounter this issue when running Path of Exile 2. However, I haven't tested with other games to see if the problem occurs elsewhere.

I did run an AIDA64 stress test for 90 minutes, and no issues were detected during that test.

Let me know if further information or additional tests are needed.

Does the problem only happen in this game?

    Hello Jonathan,

I would like to clarify that the minidump file I just provided is not from the same blue screen event as the Event Log (blue.evtx) I shared earlier.

The Event Log (blue.evtx) I provided earlier corresponds to an automatic restart that occurred while I was playing Path of Exile 2. When I launch and play POE2, my computer often restarts automatically, and sometimes this is accompanied by a blue screen with the error code "Critical Process Died." However, in these cases, no minidump files are generated.

The minidump file I provided this time is from a blue screen that occurred while I was browsing the web, not related to playing POE2. After this particular blue screen, I updated my network driver.

Here is the link to the zipped Minidump files:

Please let me know if you need further information.

    Best regards,
    Andy

My name is Jonathan Deives. I'm an Independent Advisor and I will be happy to help you.

See if your computer is creating minidump files.

To find these files, this is the path "C:\Windows\Minidump".

First copy and paste all the minidump files you have to another folder and then zip it. Then upload the ZIP file to the cloud on a website like OneDrive, Google Drive or Dropbox.

Choose to share or right click and get the share link.

Please post the link to the ZIP file here so it can be reviewed.
