My SSD Doesn't Appear in Device Manager or Disk Management

My computer has two SSDs and suddenly disk 1 disappeared completely.

It is no longer visible in the Device Manager or Disk Manager. This is too strange because I haven't made any changes in my operating system, and it is not a new disk (it has been working for almost ten months).

Most of the info that I found online addresses problems with new Windows installations or newly added disks, but none of the suggested solutions have resolved my problem.

    Hi Diego,

My name is Igor, it's a pleasure for me to help others and I'll try to help you.

Each properly installed and properly operating device should be presented in the Device manager regardless of a driver installation.

Your device is absent in Device manager, so it is faulty or improperly connected. Is the drive visible in BIOS? Can you check this drive in another PC?

Hello Igor, Thanks for your help.

When I checked in BIOS, the missing disk was listed. Then, I simply rebooted the computer, and it started working as usual. I don't know what exactly solved the issue, but It is working now.

    Thanks again!
