I followed your link above to Movie Maker Video Editor and see that to manage projects its necessary to purchase the Pro version. Before I do that can you confirm its possible to open WLMP files that were created with Movie Maker (the version that will only work with up through Win 10, part of Essentials as I recall) and resume work on them. If it isn't, do you know of any options where I can do that using Win 11 ? Thanks.
WLMP File access
I have a WLMP video file from a while ago which is quite memorable and nostalgic for me however I am struggling to open it. Is there a specific application/ software I can use to either open it or convert it into an MP4?

Welcome to the Microsoft Community.
Thank you for your feedback. I carefully read the information and problem description you provided. .
I understand that this problem is causing you trouble. WLMP files are project files created by Windows Live Movie Maker and contain information such as video, audio, photos, titles, transitions, and effects. However, WLMP files are not actual video files and cannot be played directly in media players or other video editing software.
In order to create and share videos using WLMP files, you need to export them to common video file formats such as MP4 or WMV. Please follow the instructions below to export the file.
Launch Windows Live Movie Maker (Movie Maker - Video Editor - Free download and install on Windows | Microsoft Store).
In Windows Live Movie Maker, click File > Open Project.
Browse to and select the WLMP file you want to convert to open it.
When you are finished editing, click File > Save Movie.
Select the appropriate resolution and format, select a save location, and make sure to select MP4 or WMV format.
Enter a file name, and then click the Save button. Windows Live Movie Maker will begin exporting your project as a video file. This process may take some time, depending on the length and complexity of your video.
I hope this information helps. If you have any questions, please let me know and I'll be happy to help you further.
