Right earphone louder than left

Hello! I've had this problem for over 2 weeks now and I just can't seem to find the solution. When I use my computer my right earphones are louder than my left. Sometimes, when I boot up my computer the volume is normal but over time it goes to the right side or it will lower itself until I can barely hear it. I have tried multiple ways to counter this, such as trying to use a different earphone, reverting to an old driver save, updating my drivers, but none of these work. Interestingly though, when i try to force the left one to get louder using the sound control panel, it kind of works. What I mean by kinda is the left one playing louder but it sounds muddy and underwater as well as making the overall volume drastically low. This combined with all of the troubleshooting methods I've done leads me to believe it is either a software issue or something is wrong with my sound card in my computer. If someone could help it would be greatly appreciated

Thank You!

    Hello, CTan1029

    Welcome to the Microsoft Community.

Thank you very much for your feedback. I have carefully read the information and problem description you provided. You mentioned that the right earphone of your headphones is louder than the left earphone.

I understand that this problem is frustrating for you, and I noticed that you have tried many methods, but the problem still persists, which is indeed frustrating.

Don't worry, I am here to help you. It seems that you have tried most of the methods, and your problem may indeed be related to software configuration or hardware failure, so I want to provide some other methods that I can think of that may help you.

Method 1. Although you have tried to restore and update the driver, you can try to completely uninstall and reinstall the audio driver by following the steps below to ensure that any corrupt or misconfigured drivers are removed.

Open Device Manager (Win + X, select Device Manager).

Expand Sound, video and game controllers.

Right-click your audio device and select Uninstall.

Check Delete the driver software for this device, and then click Uninstall.

After uninstalling the driver, restart the computer and Windows will try to reinstall the driver automatically.

If the audio driver is not installed automatically, visit your computer manufacturer or sound card manufacturer's official website to download and install the latest audio driver.

Method 2. Disable sound effects and enhancements. Some sound effects and enhancements may cause sound problems.

Right-click the volume icon in the lower right corner of the taskbar and select Sound.

Select the headphone device you are using, right-click it, and select Properties.

In the Enhancements tab, check Disable all enhancements.

In the Advanced tab, uncheck Allow applications to control exclusive mode for this device.

    Method 3. Confirm software problems

Sometimes specific software may cause volume problems. Try playing sounds in different applications to check if the problem persists.

At the same time, I suggest you check if there is any software related to audio adjustment installed on your computer. If so, please temporarily uninstall these software.

If the above methods do not work, there may be a problem with the audio hardware.

If possible, I suggest you try to use a USB external sound card to test and see if the problem persists.

    Best regards

Hey! Sorry for taking a while to respond but I've tried to do all of these just now and it still didn't do anything to the volume. Could you possibly suggest me other methods. Thank You!
