Hi,

(I am not a native English speaker, so I can make some mistakes.)

So recently I wanted to play the new game Marvel Rivals,

But I was required to have Direct x12 on my pc and the only way to get it was by updating my nvidia graphics drivers, but a while after i did that (i have had this mutiple times in the past), my pc started to crash every time it booted up with the error code :”DPC_WATCHDOG_VIOLATION” or something.

I want to make use of my pc with the updated drivers and no crashes what so ever. How can I fix this?

Regards , Milan

    Hello MilanWW,

    Welcome to Microsoft Community.

The DPC_WATCHDOG_VIOLATION error is usually caused by outdated or faulty drivers, hardware issues, or software conflicts. Here are some steps you can take to fix this issue:

    1. Update your drivers: Make sure all your drivers are up to date, especially your graphics card driver. You can download the latest drivers from the manufacturer's website.
    2. Check for hardware issues: Run a hardware diagnostic test to check for any hardware issues. You can use the built-in Windows Memory Diagnostic tool or a third-party tool like Memtest86.
    3. Check for software conflicts: Uninstall any recently installed software or updates that may be causing the issue. You can also try booting your PC in Safe Mode to see if the issue persists.
    4. Disable fast startup: Fast startup can sometimes cause issues with drivers and hardware. To disable it, go to Control Panel > Power Options > Choose what the power buttons do > Change settings that are currently unavailable > Uncheck "Turn on fast startup".

I hope these steps help you resolve the issue. Let me know if you have any further questions.

    Hi, Lugoo Bei

My pc crashed again, even when using your tips. This time the screen just froze and it doesn’t bluescreen anymore. Also would upgrading my GPU/ Graphics card solve this problem?

    Greetings, Milan
