- I checked it and everything seems to be connected just fine
- The setting won't allow the front jack as default (it is greyed) because it does not detect any headphones i plug in through the front jack
- I'm pretty sure the audio drivers are correct? I have 3 audio drivers right now ( AMD High Definition Audio Device; High Definition Audio Device; NVIDIA High Definition Audio). I reinstalled and updated all the drivers
- How do I check for BIOS updates?
- The computer and the jack is brand new so it should be clean. Shining a light through it also shows it clean
Front audio jack not working
The audio jack on the back works fine with both speakers and headphones.
The front audio jack however doesn't work even with re-installing the drivers and enabling the audio option on the BIOS
I tried troubleshooting the sound and audios, but the computer doesn't even detect the headset as connected
I also checked the connection to the motherboard and everything seems to be fine
My motherboard is a520m

When you reinstalled the driver, did you let Windows install it automatically, or did you use an installer to install it manually?
If you used an installer, where did you download it from?
You can leave the link to the download page if you want.
Also, share a screenshot of your system information.
(Almost all manufacturers make A520M motherboards.)
- Press "Windows + R", type msinfo32 and press Enter.
Maximize the window and use the shortcut "Windows + Shift + S" to use the screenshot tool.
I await your reply. Click on the "Reply" button below my reply.

2025-01-20T18:26:32+00:00 Hi there!
I’m sorry to hear that. Since you’ve already tried some troubleshooting steps , you can try to:
- Check Front Panel Audio Header Connection: Please double-check the connection of the front panel audio cable to the motherboard.
- Verify Front Audio Jack in Sound Settings: Open the Sound Settings (right-click the sound icon in the taskbar) and make sure the front jack is set as the default device when plugged in.
- Update Audio Drivers: Even if you did it, please ensure that you have the latest version of the audio drivers from your motherboard's manufacturer website. I can help you to find them. If your motherboard uses Realtek audio, open the Realtek HD Audio Manager (if installed) and make sure the front jack is enabled and properly configured.
- Check for BIOS Updates.
- Is the jack clean?
Let me know if that helps!
