Docking station not recognized

Hello,

my ThinkPad USB-C Dock - Type 40A9 station is not recognized by my Windows 11. I'm using Lenovo IdeaPad 1 15AMN7 - Type 82VG.

Device manager is showing the dock station as 'Billboard Device'.

I have downloaded the driver from the official Lenovo page and installed them. I have also tried to update the driver via the Device manager wizard, but it says that the driver is on the latest version.

I can confirm that the docking station is working, since I've tested it on another Lenovo laptop.

Could you please help with this?

I just updated my dock to v3.7.04 (and indeed I needed to do this on a Win10 device). The update went through smoothly. But the dock is still not being recognized by my Win11 device. What else can I do?

    Hi,

I have similar issue with 40A9. The solution is update the dock firmware to 3.7.04. You may need connect the dock to a Win10 laptop to do the update.

    Hello Tsvety,

Thanks for reaching out here in the Microsoft Answers Community.

The "Billboard device" is a device in the hub that tells the alternate modes it requires; if the USB-C port does not support alternate modes, it (supposedly) pops up a message.

If the hub itself does not work, it is likely that the USB-C port does not support everything the hub requires. If that is the case, I recommend contacting Lenovo regarding compatibility and the capability of the USB-C port on the computer.

Thanks for your patience and understanding.

    Best Regards,
