My current windows version is windows 11, 22H2, and I am looking to upgrade my version up to 23H2 or 24H2, so I can continue to get important security/software updates. Could someone please walk me through the steps on how to get a newer windows version? (23H2 or 24H2)

Just to clarify, this PC came with windows 11 on it along with the unsupported CPU and disabled TPM 2.0 (not that it matters). I greatly appreciate your help, but I think I'll just stick with 22H2 since the risk feels too great to switch to a newer version on unsupported hardware.

Thank you very much for your time.

While I'm already on windows 11, my computer doesn't actually meet the requirements to be on windows 11 (unsupported CPU and doesn't have TPM 2.0 enabled). If I try to switch to a newer version, is there a risk that my computer might just stop working altogether?/ is it worth it to download a newer version?

    Hello,

I would recommend downloading the 23H2 enablement package from https://catalog.sf.dl.delivery.mp.microsoft.com/filestreamingservice/files/caa3ff4a-6420-4341-aeae-33b2d7f463be/public/windows11.0-kb5027397-x64_3a9c368e239bb928c32a790cf1663338d2cad472.msu and see if that gets you to 23H2.

You will need to have Windows 22H2 OS Builds 22621.2506 and 22631.2506 in order to use the enablement package.

Once you download the .msu file, double click it, and then let the update download and install. Once it's done, it will prompt you to restart your computer.

Let me know how this goes.

"Hello, I have Windows 11 version 23H2 in S mode and want to update to 24H2. When I download the Installation Assistant it tells me that the IA is an unverified app and to run the app I need to switch out of S mode, which means that I will NOT be able to return to S mode. Is there any way around this as I do not wish to leave S mode?

    No problem :)

I will recommend one thing, 22H2 is out of support from Microsoft and it is recommended that you go to at least 23H2 if possible. This way, your PC doesn't contract any viruses since 22H2 doesn't get any more patches from Microsoft.
