I cannot scan from my Brother Printer to scan from my new laptop with Windows 11 version 24h2. I contact Brothe Surpport and they told me to contact Microsoft Support, see email below. Help.

Penny,
Thank you for reaching out to Brother Support regarding your printer issue. We appreciate your inquiry, and we are here to assist you. To address the matter efficiently, kindly follow the steps outlined below:
This is due to an issue with Windows version 24h2 that is not allowing the scanner driver to install properly. You will need to contact Microsoft support for further assistance.

Hi ,
A solution presented by the user with this problem on the reddit link worked for two other known users and the alternative solution was not definitive.
Right click on Start > click on Device Manager > double click on Imaging Device > right click on your imaging device and select Disable > Right click on your imaging device again and now select update driver > select Browse my computer for drivers > select Let me choose from a list of available drivers > your driver should be in the list, select it > click Next and after successful loading, restart your computer and with luck, this will allow you scan with Brother utilities.
If possible, try and get feedback if it worked.

Here is the fix that worked for me:
Right click on Start > click on Device Manager > double click on Imaging Device > right click on your imaging device and select Disable > Right click on your imaging device again and now select update driver > select Browse my computer for drivers > select Let me choose from a list of available drivers > your driver should be in the list, select it >
I selected "microsoft eSEL class driver"
click Next and after successful loading, restart your computer
none of these procedures worked for me
brother mfc9340cdw on new windows 11 machine running 24h2
re imaging to 23h2 is likely not a good option.
btw the registry brother delete did not work
the computer had to be restored from a previous version.
I am running the latest version of 24h2 and this is still a problem for millions of users.
WHEN IS A FIX COMING FOR BROTHER?
IS 25H2 GOING TO BE BETTER?
sorry but this is microsoft and it has been over 30 days since this issue has been happening.
23h2 worked fine.
Hi ,
I am Ivan, I will help you with this.
I checked with several users and found this solution on Reddit and another on the Clube Hardware forum.
Are you using the printer via a network?

What may be happening is installing the driver directly from the printer, except for the scanner. Try following what the guy did in the test.
Access the Start menu > Settings > Windows Update > Advanced Options > Optional Updates.
Check and update.
