I found a few but they end up deleting/hiding the files. I hope its not a guise for the software developet to steal my data.
Is there not an industry accredited file encryption software I can use which will work on my version of Windows ?

Hi, I am Dave, I will help you with this.
The Home Single Language version of Windows 11 doe not have Bitlocker encryption as part of the functionality, it is only if you clean install the latest version (24H2) of Windows 11 using a bootable USB that they have added Bitlocker to the Home Single Language version, even if you just perform an update to version 24H2, Bitlocker will not be enabled.
If you search online or on the Microsoft Store for 'Password Protect' you will find many free apps that can password protect a folder or USB flash drive.
There are many different apps like Folder Locker that can be used to encrypt/password protect data in a folder or USB drive. on Community we are only allowed to recommend free software..
I did that, re entered the password hoping the folder would now be displayed but nothing was displayed.
Can you/anyone recommend software that can do the job on my version of win 11 ?
When you encrypt a folder, the software hides the data until you enter the associated password to access the data.
